Nabarangpur, 10th Jan.
The Odisha government is working to increase the salaries of Anganwadi and ASHA workers in the state, according to senior official VK Pandian.

Pandian, who is the chairman of ‘5T’ – technology-led transformative initiatives, stated that the government aims to improve the conditions of those working at the grassroots level.

Speaking at a function in Nabarangpur district, Pandian mentioned that the government will raise the salaries considering the contributions of Anganwadi and ASHA workers.

Additionally, cooks at Anganwadi centers will receive more incentives. The government is also considering increasing the pay of community center employees, master book-keepers (MBKs), and auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs).

Furthermore, the monthly payout for elderly individuals under the Madhubabu Pension scheme will be increased.

These announcements were made in response to allegations made by BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, who criticized the BJD government for failing to empower women and provide work to members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

Sarangi claimed that women in the state were being mistreated and exploited, while emphasizing the commitment of the central government to ensure social security and improve the financial conditions of women.
