New Delhi, 27th Jan. In the midst of the political turmoil in Bihar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated on Saturday that the party is making every effort to ease tensions within the INDIA bloc.

He said he has no “information about Janata Dal (United) leaving the alliance” when speaking to the media in Bengaluru. Earlier in the day, JD(U) veteran Nitish Kumar is expected to step down as Bihar Chief Minister today, and that a number of Congress MLAs will accompany him. Kharge added that he attempted to communicate with Nitish Kumar and had written him a letter. However, I’m not aware of Nitish’s thoughts. I’m going to Delhi tomorrow to acquire all the details. “Let us observe the situation,” the head of Congress informed reporters.

Mallilkarjun Kharge also added that the Congress is trying their best to make “everyone unite” in the INDIA coalition, adding that he has spoken to Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury.

“I told them (Mamata Banerjee and Sitaram Yechury) that we need to be united only then we can give a good fight (in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections),” stated Mallikarjun Kharge. The head of the Congress went on to say that no one who wants the India-US alliance to succeed and democracy “to be saved” would act hastily.
