New Delhi, 29th Jan.
Once again, the predictions of political unrest in Bihar have proven to be true. After days of speculation, Nitish Kumar has taken the expected action. He resigned from his position and informed Governor Rajendra Arlekar of his decision to leave the Grand Alliance. With the support of the BJP, he was sworn in as Chief Minister for the ninth time in the evening. Nitish Kumar is the only Chief Minister of Bihar to have taken the oath of office multiple times, and he also holds the record for the longest tenure in the position. With a degree in Electronic Engineering, Nitish Kumar has once again proved his political skills. His impressive social engineering has also been evident since he became Chief Minister.

The BJP also swore in two of its Deputy Chief Ministers

For the ninth time, Nitish Kumar has taken the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Bihar. At a ceremony held at Patna’s Raj Bhavan, Governor Rajendra Arlekar delivered to him the oath of office and secrecy. Two BJP Deputy Chief Ministers have also taken an oath alongside him. Vijay Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary are among them. At Patna’s Raj Bhavan, during the swearing-in ceremony, there were also shouts of Jai Shri Ram. Nitish’s special person, Vijay Chaudhary took the oath

CM Nitish saw JDU leader Vijay Chaudhary as exceptional and special and he swore in as a minister at number four. He was in charge of the Grand Alliance Government’s Finance Department. He is regarded as the JDU’s second-in-command in the Bihar administration. Senior JDU leader and Supaul MLA Bijendra Prasad Yadav took the oath of office at the fifth rank, following Vijay Chaudhary. Following this, BJP politician Prem Kumar was sworn in. He has also served as a minister in the past.

JDU MLA Shravan Kumar was sworn in as a minister at position seven. He is from the Nalanda district, which is home to Nitish Kumar. Santosh Kumar Suman, national President of Hindustan Awam Morcha and son of former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, took the oath of office after him. Manjhi’s party has backed the new government led by Nitish. The Hindustani Awam Morcha has four MLAs in the Bihar Assembly. Finally, Sumit Kumar Singh, an independent MLA, was sworn in as a minister. He had served as a minister in both the Grand Alliance and NDA administrations before to this. Another person regarded as close to Nitish is Sumit Singh.

Nitish’s father was a freedom fighter

Nitish Kumar is the ninth Chief Minister who took the oath of office. With the backing of the Bharatiya Janata Party six times and the RJD three times, he took the oath of office as Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar was born in Bakhtiyarpur in 1951. In addition to being a doctor, his father took an active part in the independence movement. Like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar is likewise a product of the JP movement. He took part in the anti-emergency student movement led by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

In 1985, Nitish won his first election

Nitish Kumar had made his election debut as a Lok Dal candidate. He won the assembly elections from the Harnaut constituency in 1985, even during the Congress surge. He arrived in Delhi five years after winning the Lok Sabha elections. Following this, he and George Fernandez founded Samata Party during the Mandal wave. After that, the JDU was established, and it long served as the BJP’s center-right ally. His reputation as ‘Good Governance Babu’ only began to take shape after he was appointed Chief Minister for the first time. He enforced severe measures against kidnapping, ransom, and insurrection within the state. But without an alliance, Nitish Kumar would never be able to win the polls. Nitish Kumar deserves the credit for leading the highly backward class and Mahadalit to victory. In addition, he made Pasmanda Muslims more receptive to him.

Under Atalji’s administration, Nitish served as the Union Railway Minister

In 1996, Nitish and the BJP established their first coalition. After failing to secure a majority, he resigned from his position as Chief Minister on March 3, 2000, and joined the cabinet of Atal Ji as the minister of railways. Nitish served in the BJP from 1996 to 2013. Narendra Modi broke away from the NDA after the BJP announced him as their Prime Ministerial candidate. He was CM during the 2015 Grand Alliance administration. In 2017, he rejoined the NDA for the second time and with the BJP’s assistance, he formed the government. With the support of the BJP, he assumed the position of Chief Minister for a third time in 2024. After 28 years, this is his third stint with the BJP.
