New Delhi, 26th Feb: Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday launched the upgraded RAJMARG PRAVESH web portal to streamline the process of obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for facilities along National Highways.
The enhanced platform, developed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, aims to make permissions simpler, faster and more transparent in line with the government’s ease of doing business reforms.
The portal enables citizens, businesses and organisations to apply online for access permissions related to private properties, fuel stations, rest area complexes, wayside amenities and connecting roads along National Highways.
Government and private agencies can also use the platform to seek approvals for laying utilities such as water and gas pipelines, optical fibre cables and electrical lines along or across highways.
Officials said the revamped system introduces a more structured, time-bound approval mechanism, reducing delays and paperwork. The move is expected to improve efficiency and bring greater transparency to the NOC granting process.
Senior officials present at the launch included Secretary (RTH) V Umashankar, DG (RD) & Special Secretary Vinay Kumar Rajawat, Chairman National Highways Authority of India Santosh Kumar Yadav, MD National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited Krishan Kumar and other ministry representatives.
The Ministry said the revamped portal marks another step toward digitisation and streamlined governance in the highway infrastructure sector.
