Ahmedpur, 24th Feb. Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated six National Highway projects worth Rs. 3,946 crore in Ahmedpur, Maharashtra. Additionally, three National Highway projects worth Rs. 122.9 crore in Dharashiv were also inaugurated by the Minister.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Ahmedpur, saw the presence of State Minister Sanjay Bansode G, Member of Parliament Sudhakar Shringare, MP Prataprao Patil Chikhlikar, along with other MLAs, officials, and dignitaries, who participated in the dedication and Bhoomi Pujan rituals.
Highlighting the importance of these projects, especially for the agricultural hub of Latur district known for soybean production, Gadkari emphasized the role of good roads in facilitating the transportation of agricultural produce to markets. Among the projects inaugurated were the 4-laning of Ausa-Chakur section on National Highway 361 and the 4-laning of Chakur-Loha section, aimed at improving connectivity between Marathwada and Vidarbha regions.
Furthermore, the strengthening work of the Ashta mode to Ashta and Tivatgyal to Malkapur section on National Highway 63 was completed, contributing to smoother and safer traffic flow in the area.
These projects are expected to not only enhance connectivity but also save time and fuel, reduce pollution, and facilitate easier access to prominent religious sites such as Mahur Shaktipeeth, Nanded Gurdwara, and Tuljabhavani Temple of Tuljapur.
In addition to the projects in Ahmedpur, three National Highway projects in Dharashiv district were inaugurated through video conferencing. These projects aim to improve connectivity between Latur Road Junction and Sonegaon Junction, with the Dharashiv Bypass expected to alleviate traffic congestion in the city and facilitate the transportation of agricultural products.
