New Faces in BJP’s Parliamentary List: Maya Narolia, Umeshnath Maharaj, and Bansilal Gurjar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced additional candidates for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections, recently. The released list contains the names of five candidates. The BJP has selected Ashwini Vaishnav, a former Union Minister, as its candidate from Odisha. Additionally, Maya Narolia, L Murugan, Bansilal Gurjar, and Umesh Nath Maharaj have been granted tickets from Madhya Pradesh. Despite the fact that these leaders may not possess any distinct identity in national politics, they possess a significant influence in Madhya Pradesh. The party has attempted to resolve numerous issues through the guidance of its three leaders. We would like to provide you with an overview of the three leaders and the reasons behind the party’s decision to nominate them for the Upper House.

Maya Narolia

Maya Narolia holds the position of President of the Mahila Morcha of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. She has been actively involved in grassroots campaigns for the party for a considerable duration. The significance of the participation of women was significant in the party’s historic victory in the assembly elections held in Madhya Pradesh at the conclusion of the previous year. On the one hand, Maya Narolia has been rewarded for her efforts by being appointed to the Rajya Sabha, whereas on the other hand, an effort has been made to promote the message of empowering half of the population.

Umesh Nath Maharaj is the esteemed individual

The BJP has also designated Yogi Sant Umesh Nath Maharaj as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha. He holds the position of Chief Peethadhishwar at Valmiki Dham Ashram in Ujjain. Umesh Nath Maharaj, who hails from the Valmiki community, exerts a significant influence on the society. From RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat till Home Minister Amit Shah, individuals have been observed receiving blessings from him. During Simhastha Kumbh, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah also indulged in a ritual of bathing in harmony with Saint Umesh Nath Ji Maharaj. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also used to visit him to seek his blessings. On January 7, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had reached Valmiki Dham, where he had the opportunity to meet Mahant Umesh Nath ji and receive the blessings of his Guru’s Samadhi.

 

Bansilal Gurjar

Bansilal Gurjar is a big farmer leader of BJP. He is the National Vice President of BJP Kisan Morcha. Gurjar, a resident of Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, started politics from the post of Sarpanch about three decades ago. He has good influence among farmers and Gujjar community. Gurjar, who was a district member, district panchayat member and chairman of the agricultural produce market, was also made the chairman of the Farmers Welfare Commission by the Madhya Pradesh government in 2016.

BJP’s victory on four seats is certain

Nominations will be held till Thursday for the elections on five Rajya Sabha seats from Madhya Pradesh. The notification was issued on 8 February. However, not a single nomination paper has been submitted yet. Based on the number of BJP members in the state assembly, it is considered certain that four seats will go to BJP’s account. The Congress candidate is likely to win another seat. Congress has not yet announced the names of the candidates. BJP has 163 MLAs and Congress 66 in the 230-member assembly. Another MLA Kamlesh Dodiyar has won the election from Sailana Assembly seat under the banner of Bharat Adivasi Party. The tenure of BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh Ajay Pratap Singh, Kailash Soni, Dharmendra Pradhan and Dr L Murugan is ending on 02 April. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajmani Patel is also completing his term.

BJP has given tickets to these candidates till now 

So far, two lists have been released for Rajya Sabha, in which altogether the names of 19 candidates have been announced. In the first list, BJP has given tickets to two candidates from Bihar, which include the names of Dharamsheela Gupta and Dr. Bhim Singh. Raja Devendra Pratap Singh from Chhattisgarh, Subhash Barala from Haryana, Narayana Krishnasa Bhandge from Karnataka, Mahendra Bhatt from Uttarakhand and Samik Bhattacharya from West Bengal have been given tickets. RPN Singh, Sudhanshu Trivedi, Chaudhary Tejveer Singh, Sadhna Singh, Amarpal Maurya, Sangeeta Balwant and Naveen Jain have been given tickets from Uttar Pradesh.
