Neeta Bhushan Named India’s New Envoy to New Zealand

New Delhi, 9th September. Neeta Bhushan, a senior IFS officer, was named India’s High Commissioner to New Zealand on Thursday.

Bhushan, a 1994 batch officer, is currently the Ministry of External Affairs’ Additional Secretary in charge of Central Europe (MEA).

Neeta Bhushan succeeds Muktesh Pardeshi, who was elevated to the rank of secretary in the External Affairs Ministry last month and is tasked with India’s G-20 Secretariat.

Bhushan, a career diplomat, has served as Head of the Press, Culture, and Information Wing at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka (Bangladesh) and as Head of the Economic and Commercial Wing at the Indian Embassy in Berlin (Germany).

She also served as director in the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Economic Affairs and as joint secretary (parliament & coordination) in the MEA.
