New Delhi, 19th Nov. BJP president J.P. Nadda on Tuesday attended a special screening of the movie The Sabarmati Report alongside several party leaders, hailing it as a courageous portrayal of the 2002 Godhra train burning incident. Nadda accused the Congress and its allies of suppressing the truth for over two decades, blaming their “appeasement politics” for misrepresenting the tragedy.

Addressing reporters, Nadda highlighted the stark contrast between the Gujarat Police’s findings and a Railway Ministry commission under the UPA government, led by Sonia Gandhi. “It took 22 years for the truth about the burning of kar-sevaks returning from Ayodhya to come out,” he said. Over 55 passengers were killed in the incident, which the Gujarat Police attributed to a Muslim mob. Courts later upheld these findings by convicting several accused, contrary to the UPA commission’s conclusion of it being an accident.

Nadda accused the “Left-liberal ecosystem” of shielding the truth while targeting those who sought to uncover it. Lauding the film’s producer, director, and cast for their bravery, he urged citizens to watch it with their families. He emphasized that, for the first time, all 59 victims of the tragedy have been named in the movie.

Several BJP leaders, including MPs Baijayant Jay Panda, Arun Singh, and Anil Baluni, joined Nadda at the screening. The movie, endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been hailed as an important account of the tragedy.

Nadda concluded by calling The Sabarmati Report a pivotal reminder of historical truths and the need for honest narratives in the nation’s discourse.
