New Delhi, 2nd Feb: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday launched MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026, a nationwide youth-centric initiative aimed at deepening young citizens’ understanding of the Union Budget and linking budgetary policies with everyday life.

The initiative will be hosted on the MY Bharat platform (mybharat.gov.in) and will commence on February 3. It is designed as a structured, participatory programme to make Union Budget 2026 more accessible, relatable and citizen-centric, especially for students and young professionals across colleges, institutions and coaching centres.

Addressing the launch, Dr Mandaviya said the first phase will feature a national-level online quiz on the Union Budget 2026, open to all youth registered on the MY Bharat portal. The quiz will remain open for participation until February 17.

Top performers from each State and Union Territory will qualify for the second round, scheduled between February 17 and March 3, which will be an essay-writing competition. Participants will be given eight themes linked to the Union Budget and aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat, allowing them to present ideas, analysis and policy perspectives.

Dr Mandaviya noted that during the Budget Speech this year, the Finance Minister had acknowledged innovative ideas shared by youth through earlier platforms, some of which were reflected in the Union Budget 2026-27. He said the new initiative aims to continue this momentum and strengthen youth participation in national economic discourse.

Essay evaluations will take place from March 3 to March 10, with State and UT-wise merit lists to be announced on March 10. Winners from across the country will earn an opportunity to interact with Narendra Modi, discussing the vision and priorities of a Viksit Bharat Budget.
