The Mumbai Crime Branch has taken a crucial step forward in the investigation of the firing incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, registering a case against gangster Rohit Godara in connection with the incident that occurred last month.

The firing incident, which occured on April 14 outside Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area, has prompted intensive investigations. Gangster Rohit Godara has been named as an accused in the case, shedding light on potential underworld connections to the incident.

The Mumbai Police have intensified efforts to apprehend all individuals involved in the shooting, particularly targeting those associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has been invoked against the perpetrators, reflecting the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating the matter.

In a recent development, the sixth accused, identified as Harpal Singh (37), was apprehended from Haryana’s Fatehabad on Monday evening. Singh’s arrest follows the interrogation of another accused, Mohammed Rafique Choudhary, during which Singh’s involvement came to light. Singh allegedly provided financial support to Choudhary for reconnaissance activities around Salman Khan’s residence.

Prior investigations revealed the involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Vishnoi, who played a crucial role in orchestrating the shooting. Following the delivery of weapons in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol provided the shooters with detailed information about the target and instructed them to carry out the firing at the actor’s residence. The execution of the planned firing incident reportedly earned the shooters a total of ₹3 lakh.
