Mukul Roy quits BJP with son Shubhranshu to rejoin TMC: Mamta say more to join soon

Kolkata ,11th June. Mukul Roy The BJP vice president rejoined the Trinamool Congress in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, at party headquarters in Kolkata along with his son Subhranshu Roy in the presence of Trinamool Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday. CM Mamta Banerjee handed over the party flag and welcomed the father and son duo to the party.
After reaching Trinamool Bhawan, Mukul Roy first went to his old room in the building which he left in 2017 after joining BJP. Mukul Roy, who had the second-highest stature in the Trinamool Congress, joined the BJP in November 2017. Mukul Roy has distanced himself from the BJP for the past few days.
The discussions on Mukul Roy’s ‘homecoming’ have been in full swing for some time since TMC’s landslide victory in the Bengal assembly elections. These discussions were further reinforced when Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee had reached the hospital to meet Mukul Roy where his (Roy’s) wife was admitted.
Mukul Roy was general secretary in the Trinamool Congress before coming to the BJP. Recently,. Rai joined the BJP in 2017. Roy also did not attend a meeting convened by the state BJP leadership on Tuesday.
It is being said that the Suvendu Adhikari is being given more priority in the Bengal BJP. He has also been made the Leader of the Opposition. Mukul Roy’s discomfort continued to grow which led to his decision to return to his old party.
