Jabalpur, 4th April.
The MP/MLA Court has issued warrants against former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh, Vijay Sharma, and former Minister Bhupendra Singh for failing to appear in court.

The warrants, valued at 500 rupees each, were issued due to their repeated absence from court proceedings.

Previously, the court had revised the dates, ordering them to appear one month earlier.

Shivraj Singh, Vijay Sharma, and Bhupendra Singh have continuously abstained from court hearings.

Allegations were made against these three leaders during local elections for obstructing OBC reservations for Vivek Tankha. Tankha, aggrieved by their statements, filed a defamation suit amounting to 10 crore rupees.

The special judge of the MP/MLA Court, Vishweshwari Mishra, issued this order. The court’s order included some significant remarks.

It stated, “If senior BJP leaders do not comply with court orders, it will send the wrong message to the public.” The court further warned, “Disregarding court orders under the guise of personal engagements will convey a negative message to the general public.”

Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vijay Sharma, and Bhupendra Singh had cited their engagement in Lok Sabha elections as grounds for their absence. They had filed an application to avoid personal appearance, a plea which the court took cognizance of.
