New Delhi, 30th Jan. The Enforcement Directorate has seized Rs 36 lakh, an SUV, and some “incriminating” documents during a search of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s residence in Delhi.
The federal agency conducted the search at Soren’s residence in south Delhi for almost 13 hours in connection with a money laundering case related to an alleged land deal in Jharkhand.
The ED teams confiscated Rs 36 lakh in cash, a BMW with an Haryana number plate registered under a “benami” name, and several incriminating documents.
Soren has agreed to appear before the ED at his Ranchi residence on Wednesday.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led ruling alliance has instructed all legislators to remain in the state capital and attend a meeting to discuss the current political situation in the state.
