Modi, US think tank delegation meets to strengthen strategic ties

WASHINGTON – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with a US delegation of thinkers and business leaders led by Walter Russell Mead, a distinguished fellow at the Hudson Institute.

Modi expressed his appreciation for the contribution of the US delegation to enhance India-US ties during the interaction.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and the US, focusing on advancing global peace, progress, and prosperity.

“Glad to interact with a US delegation of thinkers and business leaders led by Mr. Walter Russell Mead. Value their contribution in strengthening India-US ties and advancing our partnership for global peace, progress and prosperity,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

The meeting came after ongoing discussions between India and the US on various issues, including trade and security.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with the US delegation, discussed geopolitical developments and shared interests within the India-US partnership.

The interaction highlighted the growing cooperation between India and the US, with both countries working together on various fronts, including defense, space, and technology.

Both countries have been engaging in discussions on trade agreements, with efforts to resolve outstanding issues and strengthen bilateral ties.

India-US relationship has seen significant progress in recent years with both countries sharing common values of democracy, freedom, and prosperity.

The partnership is built on mutual trust, shared interests, and goodwill, with a focus on promoting global peace and stability, the release added.
