Modi thanks Netanyahu for Independence Day greetings, vows deeper India-Israel ties

WASHINGTON – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his gratitude to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his warm wishes on India Independence Day and highlighted the strong and growing ties between India and Israel.

“Thank you PM Netanyahu for your warm wishes. May India-Israel friendship continue to flourish may both countries further strengthen and deepen this relationship bringing peace, development as well as security to our people,” Modi said in a message shared on handle X.

Netanyahu had extended warm greetings to India on the occasion of its 79th Independence Day.

In a post shared on platform X, Netanyahu said, “Congratulations to my dear friend @PMOIndia @narendramodi and the people of India on your Independence Day.”

Media reports said that the warm exchange between the two leaders reflects the robust strategic partnership between India and Israel, which has grown significantly over the years.

Both nations have collaborated in various areas, including defense, agriculture, technology, and innovation.

India and Israel have enjoyed smooth bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992.

The relationship has flourished under the leadership of PM Modi, with both countries engaged in extensive cooperation in defense, counter-terrorism, and economic development.

India-Israel partnership has also seen significant growth in areas such as agriculture, water management, and technology, with both countries working together to address common challenges and promote mutual development.
