WASHINGTON – India Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between India and France.

The meeting was marked by an engaging exchange on various global issues.

Modi said in a post on X, “Delighted to meet President Macron during the Johannesburg G20 Summit. We had an engaging exchange on different issues. India-France ties remain a force for global good!” highlighted the positive tone of the meeting.

The meeting underscored the growing strategic partnership between India and France, which has been a key pillar of cooperation in areas like defense, technology, and climate change.

Both leaders discussed ways to further deepen their cooperation, particularly in emerging technologies and sustainable development.

India and France have been working together on several initiatives, including the International Solar Alliance and the One Planet Summit.

Their partnership is seen as a model for global cooperation, with a focus on promoting peace, stability, and prosperity.

The meeting came as India and France prepare for the upcoming India-France Strategic Dialogue, which will provide a platform for further strengthening their bilateral ties.
