Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to women’s development, stating that it has set exemplary standards in India’s “Women-led Development” over the past decade.

Speaking at women’s and SC rallies in Sujanpur and Bhoranj constituencies during his Himachal Pradesh visit, Thakur emphasized the strides made in women’s development and welfare.

Thakur praised the Modi government’s initiatives, including the elevation of women to key positions and the provision of 33% reservation for women in the country’s legislatures, as exemplary measures for women’s empowerment. He underscored that the strength of India lies in its women, citing instances of women’s empowerment leading to electoral victories.

Highlighting various schemes aimed at women’s economic empowerment, Thakur mentioned the initiation of more than 25 schemes in the last decade, benefiting over 20 crore women, 5 crore students, and 11 crore working women. He outlined the success of schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Stand Up India in uplifting women across rural and urban areas.

Thakur also commended the government’s efforts in enhancing opportunities for women in the armed forces, providing permanent commissions for female officers, and promoting entrepreneurship among Scheduled Caste and women entrepreneurs.

Addressing the opposition’s criticism of the Modi government, Thakur denounced the politics of fear and confusion, asserting that the government’s clear and decisive victories in previous elections have rattled the opposition.

He highlighted the government’s reverence for the Constitution and its dedication to the principles laid down by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Thakur concluded by expressing confidence in the Modi government’s ability to eradicate corruption and transform India into the world’s third-largest economy by 2047.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a developed nation while assuring that corruption would be eliminated under Modi’s leadership.
