Aizawl, 27th Nov. Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced on Tuesday that his government will dismiss non-performing state employees to ensure an efficient and qualified workforce. Speaking at a review meeting of the Education Department, he emphasized the formation of committees across departments to evaluate the performance of state employees.
“We believe it is better to relieve unqualified employees, who no longer meet service standards, as per norms. Our commitment is to have efficient employees delivering quality services,” said Lalduhoma.
The chief minister also highlighted efforts to ensure effective execution of state projects, with the State Project Monitoring Committee already inspecting about 40 ongoing projects. “We will be stringent in implementing and monitoring projects across the state,” he added.
Additionally, Lalduhoma announced the centralization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities under the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Departments will now approach CSR funding through a dedicated CSR cell to avoid uncoordinated usage.
In a significant shift, the state government aims to reduce dependence on Central funding that requires high state matching shares. Proposals for Central projects will now route through the state planning department to avoid overlaps, he informed.
Lalduhoma reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering accountability and efficient governance in Mizoram.
