Ludhiana, 19th Dec. Union Minister Ravneet Bittu on Wednesday expressed confidence that the people of Ludhiana would overwhelmingly support the BJP in the upcoming municipal corporation elections. The elections, scheduled for December 21, will decide the fate of five municipal corporations, including Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, and Phagwara, as well as 44 municipal councils and nagar panchayats in Punjab.

Campaigning for BJP candidates Ruchi Vishal Gulati in Ward No. 73 and Deeksha Batra in Ward No. 9, Bittu emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to the country’s development. He credited the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with transforming India into a global power through its ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) agenda.

During his campaign, Bittu highlighted the key initiatives the BJP plans to implement in Ludhiana. These include 24-hour drinking water supply, advanced sewerage treatment plants, effective solid waste management, improved road infrastructure, crime reduction, and the establishment of an international airport and modern railway station. He stressed that these developments would only be achievable under a BJP-led administration.

Bittu also noted that Ludhiana had already benefited from several projects under the Smart City Mission, a flagship initiative of the BJP-led central government. He added that electing a BJP mayor would bring even greater progress and prosperity to the city.

Criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Bittu accused the ruling party of failing to deliver on its promises, specifically pointing to its inability to pay salaries to state employees. “What has AAP achieved for Ludhiana in the last two-and-a-half years? Can they point to even one significant development project they have initiated?” Bittu questioned.

Bittu further emphasized that most of the major projects in Punjab are funded either entirely by the central government or through cost-sharing arrangements with the state. He labeled the AAP government in Punjab as “dysfunctional” and said it lacked a clear vision for the state’s development.

With the upcoming municipal elections in mind, Bittu urged Ludhiana voters to support the BJP for a bright and prosperous future for the city.
