New Delhi, 28th March.
Media organizations expressed condemnation over the reported assault on photojournalists by the Delhi Police during a protest organized by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday. The incident occurred during coverage of the AAP demonstration in the national capital.

The Press Club of India (PCI) and the Delhi Union of Journalists (DUJ) expressed shock and condemned the police action against photojournalists covering the AAP’s protest. In a statement, the Press Club of India stated that it deplored the assault on photojournalists by the Delhi Police.

The Working News Camerapersons Association released images depicting some police officers grabbing photojournalists by the throat and threatening others with severe consequences.

The statement issued by the Press Club of India called for a high-level investigation by a retired judge of the Delhi High Court into the use of force by the Delhi Police against the affected photojournalists, to ensure that justice is served and that the aggrieved photojournalists can continue their professional work without facing police brutality.

The Delhi Union of Journalists urged the Election Commission and the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action against the guilty police officers.

It is worth noting that the Aam Aadmi Party had organized a protest against the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
