Sonipat, 10th Jan: Senior BJP leader Pandit Parshuram Gaur on Friday announced that International Yagya Day will be observed across the country on September 17 under the guidance of Yagya Samrat Shri Shri 1008 Hariom Ji Maharaj, with a nationwide call for collective havan to promote environmental balance and public awareness.
Addressing journalists, Gaur said the world is facing repeated natural and man-made disasters, including floods, earthquakes, wars and pandemics, largely due to growing environmental imbalance and pollution. He warned that unless nature is brought back into balance, humanity could face severe crises in the future.
He said citizens do not need to travel to participate in the initiative and can perform havan at their homes to help purify the environment and contribute to collective well-being. As part of the campaign, he announced that over 1.25 lakh havan kunds will be lit simultaneously across the country on September 17.
In Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency, Gaur said 11,000 havan kunds will be lit together in a collective prayer for environmental protection and human welfare.
He appealed to religious institutions, saints, village communities and social organisations to spread awareness about the initiative and encourage maximum participation to make International Yagya Day a mass movement for environmental consciousness and public safety.
