Koppal, 2nd June: A man was brutally killed by seven assailants wielding machetes inside a bakery shop in Karnataka’s Koppal district, police officials confirmed on Monday. The violent incident, which occurred on May 31, was captured on CCTV footage.
The footage reveals the victim, identified as Chenappa Narinal, desperately running into the bakery to escape his attackers. At least two men were seen attacking him with machetes while another struck him on the head with a wooden log. Cut marks were visible on Narinal’s bare body as he tried to evade the assault.
The video shows Narinal running in circles inside the bakery with the assailants in pursuit, attempting to slash him repeatedly. Eventually, he ran out of the shop, where two to three men stabbed him multiple times. The attackers fled immediately after the assault.
Police have arrested seven suspects in connection with the murder: Ravi, Pradeep, two individuals named Manjunath, Nagaraj, Gautam, and Pramod. Preliminary investigations indicate that the killing stemmed from a long-standing enmity and a property dispute.
Senior police officials visited the crime scene, and a manhunt is underway to apprehend additional suspects involved in the attack. The investigation is ongoing.
