Greater Noida, 25th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 in Greater Noida, calling for a decisive march toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat and showcasing next-generation GST reforms as a catalyst for growth.

Welcoming over 2,200 exhibitors and traders, with Russia as partner country, the Prime Minister linked the event to the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, saying it embodied the Antyodaya spirit of inclusive development. “India has created open platforms—UPI, Aadhaar, DigiLocker, ONDC—that ensure ‘Platforms for All, Progress for All’,” he said, citing the reach of digital payments from malls to roadside vendors.

Modi detailed sweeping GST changes effective September 22, asserting they will cut household costs and ease compliance for businesses. “A ₹1,000 shirt that earlier carried ₹170 in tax before 2014 now draws only ₹35. Essential goods worth ₹100 cost families just ₹105 today versus ₹131 earlier,” he said, adding that the reforms will save citizens an estimated ₹2.5 lakh crore this year.

Reaffirming the drive for self-reliance, Modi declared, “India must become self-reliant. Every product that can be made in India must be made in India.” He urged entrepreneurs to uphold quality and invest in research, pointing to Uttar Pradesh’s expanding role in electronics, mobile and semiconductor manufacturing.

Highlighting defence production, the Prime Minister noted that AK-203 rifles and BrahMos missiles will soon roll out of UP facilities, part of a broader goal to ensure “every component bears the mark of ‘Made in India’.”

Modi underlined Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure gains—highest number of expressways, multiple international airports and major freight corridors—positioning the state as a prime investment hub. He assured traders and investors of “policy predictability, democratic stability and the government’s full support,” concluding that a developed India and a developed UP will be achieved through collective effort.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and senior dignitaries joined the inauguration, which drew global investors and domestic entrepreneurs alike.
