New Delhi, 27th Jan. Given the political unrest in the state, the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to step down on Saturday and be followed by a number of Congress MLAs.

A new government is expected to be formed by him and he is expected to meet with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar prior to the Sunday evening or Monday am oath taking ceremony. The ruling ‘Mahagathbandhan’ is experiencing extreme political unrest as a result of the Janata Dal (United) having a parliamentary meeting amid fears that Nitish Kumar would once more support the BJP-led NDA. A conference of the opposition BJP’s MPs and MLAs has been scheduled for this Saturday, ostensibly to discuss the impending Lok Sabha elections. The agenda items for the conference, the dates of which have not yet been disclosed, include the party’s general election strategy, according to Samrat Choudhary, chief of the BJP state unit. When reporters asked about rumors that the BJP and Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) are planning to go on for another term, Choudhary responded, “No such thing has been discussed at our level.”

Political Unrest in Bihar

A separate conference has been called by the Congress, BJP, and RJD to discuss the possible political crisis in Bihar. Meanwhile, Amit Shah, the union’s home minister, showed up at the BJP Central Office Extension to attend a meeting about Bihar, according to ANI.

There is a divide in the present JDU-RJD, according to many media reports, and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may shortly join the BJP-led NDA to establish a new administration in the state tomorrow.

Significant clues regarding Kumar’s alleged conversations with the party’s senior leaders were revealed by the BJP leaders on Friday. Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, in the meantime, told reporters, “No door is closed in politics.” If necessary, the door can be opened.”

Separately, Bihar Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan has scheduled a gathering of former lawmakers and MLAs for this Saturday at 2:00 pm in Purnea. Furthermore, he refuted rumors that the meeting was related to the most recent political upheavals in the state.

“Yes, all Congress MLAs (present and former) and senior party leaders are meeting in Purnea tomorrow to discuss preparations related to the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ of Rahul Gandhi when it enters Bihar on January 29,” Khan stated.

According to reports, Nitish Kumar was uneasy about the INDIA bloc since Prashant Kishor and other political analysts had predicted that the JD-U would not win even five seats in Bihar if it continued to be a part of the opposition alliance. Furthermore, Nitish Kumar believes that his prospects in the INDIA bloc are dim. Despite leading the INDIA bloc’s formation, he was not selected as the alliance’s prime ministerial candidate.

The state administration transferred six IAS, 79 IPS officers, and 45 Bihar Administrative Service officials in a significant reorganization of the top police and bureaucracy.

“Everything is well in Bihar’s ruling Mahagathbandhan and the media speculations are driven by some agenda,” stated State JD(U) president Umesh Singh Kushwaha in Patna. Additionally, he disclosed to reporters that he “met with the chief minister both today and yesterday. It’s an ordinary situation. The rumors that are circulating are untrue. We further deny the reports that party MLAs are being urged to travel immediately to Patna.” After severing relations with the BJP, which he accused of attempting to orchestrate a split in the JD(U), Kumar teamed up with the RJD, which was founded by his formerly bitter opponent Lalu Prasad, in August 2022.
