Mumbai, 29th July: A proposed design plan for a multi-purpose cultural Bhavan to be established by the Maharashtra government in New Delhi was recently presented to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The establishment of this cultural center in the Maharashtra Sadan complex was initially announced during the concluding ceremony of the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Sammelan.

Resident Commissioner and Secretary R. Vimala submitted the proposed blueprint to Chief Minister Fadnavis during his recent Delhi visit. The discussions primarily focused on the cultural Bhavan’s features, which are set to include a multi-purpose hall, accommodation facilities for Maharashtra-based candidates who qualify for interviews for various Indian Administrative Service (IAS) posts, and a spacious library with study areas, along with other allied amenities.

In addition to the cultural Bhavan, Resident Commissioner Vimala also presented detailed plans regarding the residential quarters for officers and staff within the Maharashtra Sadan complex and other administrative matters. She also shared information about ongoing plans for year-round exhibition-cum-sale outlets for seasonal fruits from Maharashtra and display units for products manufactured by self-help groups. Furthermore, a proposal was put forth for organizing a ‘Maharashtra Mahotsav’ in Delhi, featuring diverse cultural programs showcasing Maharashtra’s rich folk heritage, with a request for necessary funding.

Chief Minister Fadnavis reportedly showed a positive response to all these projects and issued instructions for further necessary action. The presentation was attended by Assistant Resident Commissioner Smita Shelar, Maharashtra Parichay Kendra In-charge Deputy Director Manisha Pingle, Public Works Department Deputy Engineer Kiran Choudhary, Electrical Department’s Ashutosh Dwivedi, Information Officer Anju Nimsarkar Kamble, and Maharashtra Sadan In-charge Manager Pramod Kolapte.
