Mumbai, 31st July: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra on Wednesday held a key meeting at its state headquarters, bringing together former Members of Parliament and legislative assembly to strategize for the upcoming local body polls, which are expected to be held later this year. These elections include the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls.
The meeting was conducted under the leadership of Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan. As part of the party’s intensified preparations, a significant strategy was unveiled: each former parliamentarian and legislator has been assigned the responsibility of “adopting” one mandal (party unit). This initiative aims to strengthen the BJP’s organizational presence and activities at the grassroots level across the state.
During the extensive deliberations, a comprehensive district-wise review of the party’s organizational status was conducted. A strong emphasis was laid on enhancing booth-level mobilization, clearly assigning responsibilities to various office-bearers, and meticulously planning outreach campaigns to connect with voters.
A party statement highlighted the importance of energizing its dedicated cadre and ensuring that the welfare schemes launched by both the central and state governments effectively reach the intended beneficiaries across Maharashtra. The BJP is keen to leverage its governance initiatives to garner public support in the forthcoming civic contests.
