Lt Gen CG Muralidharan Takes Charge as DG Medical Services (Army)

New Delhi, 18th Oct: Lt Gen CG Muralidharan has assumed charge as the Director General of Medical Services (Army), succeeding Lt Gen Sadhna S Nair, AVSM, VSM, who superannuated on September 30, 2025, after more than four decades of distinguished service to the nation.

An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Lt Gen Muralidharan was commissioned into the Army Medical Corps in 1987. A reputed radiologist, he has had an illustrious career marked by extensive command, staff, and instructional appointments across various medical echelons in the Northern and Western theatres, gaining vast operational and administrative experience.

As the head of the Army’s medical establishment, Lt Gen Muralidharan will focus on ensuring comprehensive healthcare for serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Enhancing medical preparedness in forward areas, incorporating technological innovations, and strengthening infrastructure in line with evolving security challenges and modern warfare dynamics will be among his key priorities.

Under his leadership, the Army Medical Corps will continue its commitment to delivering world-class healthcare to the Armed Forces community, upholding its noble motto — “Sarve Santu Niramayah” — ensuring health and wellbeing for all.
