New Delhi, 14th Aug: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the nation on the eve of the 79th Independence Day. In his message, he paid tribute to the countless freedom fighters and national heroes whose sacrifices secured India’s independence.
Birla highlighted the nation’s remarkable progress, stating, “It is a matter of great pride that today, India stands as the world’s largest democracy and one of its leading economies.” He noted India’s emergence as a global leader in diverse fields such as science, medicine, technology, space, and sports, adding that “Today’s India is defined by self-respect and self-reliance.”
The Speaker, on Independence Day eve, called on all citizens to safeguard this hard-won freedom and uphold its dignity. He expressed confidence that the collective efforts of 140 crore Indians will fulfill the vision of a prosperous nation.
Concluding his message, Birla urged citizens to pledge to fulfill their duties with sincerity, loyalty, and dedication.
