New Delhi, 19th Oct: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of Deepawali, urging citizens to uphold unity, mutual trust, and brotherhood in society while celebrating the festival of lights.

In his message, Birla said, “Heartiest greetings to all on the grand festival of lights, Deepawali. I also extend my best wishes for the upcoming festivals of Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.”

Describing Deepawali as the soul of Indian culture and traditions, Birla emphasized that it symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. He invoked the teachings of Lord Shri Ram, noting that his life of values, righteousness, and dharma continues to inspire people to uphold truth, duty, and goodwill.

“Diwali is not only a time to celebrate joy but also to share it with others. We should strive to spread light in the lives of those around us,” he said.

Calling upon citizens to take a pledge to foster social harmony and collective progress, the Speaker said, “Let us strengthen unity, brotherhood, mutual trust, and equality in our society. May our farmers and workers be empowered, our business community prosper, our youth be energetic and self-reliant, and our nation continue to move forward on the path of development.”

Extending his blessings, Birla prayed that Goddess Lakshmi bestow happiness and prosperity, Goddess Saraswati grant wisdom, and Lord Ganesha remove obstacles from everyone’s path.

“Wishing you all a very Happy Deepawali. Jai Siyaram!” he concluded.
