New Delhi, 19th Jan: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday advocated a gradual transition of responsibility from the older generation to the younger generation, saying that once systems begin running smoothly, senior leaders should step aside and explore other roles.
Addressing a press conference in Nagpur on the upcoming Advantage Vidarbha–Khasdar Audhyogik Mahotsav, Gadkari said the initiative, conceptualised by him and organised by Ashish Kale of the Association for Industrial Development (AID), actively involves young entrepreneurs and professionals.
Referring to Kale, Gadkari said, “His father is my friend. Now we should gradually be made to retire and the responsibility should pass to the new generation. When the vehicle starts running smoothly, we should withdraw and do other work.” He noted that this generational shift is essential for sustained growth and innovation.
Gadkari, who serves as AID’s chief mentor, said this will be the third edition of the Advantage Vidarbha expo, scheduled to take place in Nagpur from February 6 to 8. He described Vidarbha as a region rich in entrepreneurial talent across multiple industries.
He underlined that the core objective of the three-day event is to establish Vidarbha as a strong and emerging industrial hub on India’s economic map. According to him, balanced development of industry, agriculture, allied activities, and the service sector is critical for regional progress.
The expo is expected to showcase participation from industries in textiles, plastics, minerals, coal, aviation, logistics, IT, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, defence, real estate, renewable energy, and startups, reflecting Vidarbha’s diverse industrial potential.
