Patna, 23rd Aug: Political activity is intensifying in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections. All parties have started their preparations in full swing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the state on Friday, where he launched several projects. As political leaders exchange sharp words, BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh has launched a major attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

In Patna, Giriraj Singh compared Lalu Yadav to Dhritarashtra. “Lalu Yadav is as restless as ‘Dhritarashtra’ to crown his son,” Singh said. “My request to the people of Bihar, especially the youth under 30, is to understand what the state was like during the RJD’s tenure. There was no electricity, no roads, and no water. The poor had no homes, animals roamed in hospitals, and schools were in ruins. But today, the scene has changed.”

Giriraj Singh added that this “changed Bihar” has taken flight and now needs momentum. “The dream of Dhritarashtra will never be fulfilled,” he said. “In the Mahabharata, Dhritarashtra could not make his son king because his policies and thinking were flawed.”

The Election Commission may soon announce the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections, expected to be held in October or November. The elections will be for a total of 243 seats, with 122 seats needed for a majority. The main contest is between the NDA alliance (BJP, JDU, LJP-Ram Vilas, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party, and Upendra Kushwaha’s party) and the Mahagathbandhan (RJD, Congress, and others). Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj and Owaisi’s AIMIM are also in the running.
