Lakshadweep Administration Declares Wednesday of Every Week as ‘Cycle Day’

Kavaratti, 8^th April. In a significant step to curb pollution, Lakshadweep Administration on Tuesday (April 5, 2022) declared ‘Wednesday’ of every week as ‘Cycle Day’ for government employees.

According to the official notification released by the Lakshadweep Administration, the order came into effect from April 6.

The official notification stated, “Administration hereby declares Wednesday of every week as ‘Cycle Day’ for the government employees. On this day (i.e., Wednesday of every week) all officials /employees (except persons with disabilities and medical cases) shall not use motor vehicles for commuting to the work place and use only non-motorable transportation like bicycles in all Islands of UT of Lakshadweep.”
