Choglamsar, Leh, Ladakh 25th July-The Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), a spiritual and humanitarian beacon in Ladakh, was graced with the presence of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Shri Mohd. Haneefa Jan, during his official visit to the region. The visit marked a significant moment for the Centre, which continues to serve as a model of compassionate action rooted in spiritual values.

Shri Haneefa Jan was given a warm and respectful welcome by the founder of MIMC, the revered spiritual leader and social reformer Bhikkhu Sanghasena, alongside senior members of the Centre including Ven. Lobzang Nyantak, Shri Tsering Samphel, Shri Aman Ullah, and other dignitaries and staff.

The Hon’ble MP engaged in a profound and thoughtful interaction with Bhikkhu Sanghasena, where both leaders discussed the multidimensional work being carried out by MIMC in the realms of spirituality, education, healthcare, and community development. The dialogue touched upon the pressing challenges faced by Ladakh’s remote populations and the role institutions like MIMC can play in transforming lives with love, service, and compassion.

During the visit, Shri Jan toured the campus and inspected key facilities, including the Mahakaruna Charitable Hospital, which provides low-cost and free healthcare services to underprivileged communities, and the Mahabodhi Higher Secondary School, which offers quality education to children from remote and economically weaker sections of Ladakh.

Visibly moved by the scale and sincerity of MIMC’s initiatives, the MP commended the Centre’s unwavering dedication to humanitarian service. He expressed admiration for Bhikkhu Sanghasena’s vision of “Spirituality in Action”, wherein ancient Buddhist principles are harmonized with modern social needs. Shri Jan acknowledged the Centre’s remarkable ability to blend compassionate values with practical programs for empowerment and upliftment.

“I am truly inspired by the exemplary work being carried out by the Mahabodhi Centre,” said Shri Mohd. Haneefa Jan. “This institution stands as a living example of how spiritual philosophy can be translated into tangible acts of service, transforming entire communities. I assure my full support for its mission.”

The MP’s visit comes at a crucial time when Ladakh is increasingly focusing on sustainable development models that are culturally sensitive, ecologically conscious, and spiritually enriching. MIMC, with its blend of Buddhist wisdom, social activism, and developmental outreach, represents this emerging paradigm.

The Centre expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble MP for his encouraging presence and generous words. In a statement, MIMC reaffirmed its resolve to continue working for the welfare of Ladakh and beyond, particularly in education, women’s empowerment, healthcare access, interfaith harmony, and global peace.
