New Delhi, 14th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday shared glimpses from the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of major development projects worth around ₹19,480 crore in Guwahati, Assam, aimed at accelerating infrastructure growth and economic development in the region.
Addressing a grand gathering in Guwahati, the Prime Minister extended greetings to the people of Assam and acknowledged the participation of farmers joining from across the country. He also greeted the workers associated with tea gardens, highlighting their contribution to the region’s economy and heritage.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister emphasized the cultural significance of Kokrajhar, noting that the region is deeply associated with the rich traditions of the Bodo community.
“Kokrajhar is closely associated with the glorious Bodo culture. Addressing a programme via video conferencing during the launch of development projects aimed at boosting the region’s growth,” the Prime Minister said.
The development projects launched during the programme span multiple sectors and are expected to enhance connectivity, strengthen infrastructure and promote economic opportunities in Assam and the wider North-East region.
The Prime Minister reiterated the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development in the region while preserving its cultural identity, stating that such initiatives will play a crucial role in shaping the future growth of Assam.
