Jaipur, 17th Nov: RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday emphasised that researchers and universities must establish continuous and direct communication with society to truly understand what benefits people on the ground. Speaking at the ‘Yuva Shodharthi Samvad – Shashwat Moolya, Naye Ayaam’ programme held at Pathey Kan Sansthan in Jaipur’s Malviya Nagar on November 16, he noted that while some academic subjects are purely knowledge-based, many others are deeply linked to social welfare and advancement.

Addressing young researchers, Dr. Bhagwat said universities should maintain strong engagement with the community, as research gains purpose only when it aligns with societal needs. He also responded to questions from participating scholars.

He remarked that discussions around the RSS often come from both well-wishers and critics, but the latter dominate public narratives. Many misconceptions have been woven into a “web of falsehoods,” he said, urging scholars to explore original RSS sources to understand its ethos. “If you want to see the RSS, visit a shakha. Observe the lives of dedicated volunteers and the organisation becomes clear,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of shakhas, Dr. Bhagwat said they instil discipline, collective spirit, humility, and self-improvement. He asserted that the RSS focuses solely on character-building, while volunteers drive social change across various fields.

He observed that even if someone cannot attend a shakha due to circumstances, serving the nation through excellence, sincerity, and authenticity in one’s work is equally valuable. He urged people not to form opinions about the RSS based on external perceptions.

Dr. Bhagwat said the organisation’s aim is not self-projection but nation-building, and this responsibility extends beyond the RSS to the entire society. Continuous engagement, he emphasised, is vital, as complacency can diminish the relevance of any organisation.

He added that the fundamental goal remains national upliftment, which demands collective effort — just as regular practice is essential for doctors, engineers, and artists.

The event saw participation from 260 researchers and scholars representing 34 universities across Rajasthan, along with senior RSS functionaries including Rajasthan Kshetra Sanghchalak Dr. Ramesh Chandra Agrawal.
