New Delhi, 5th Jan: Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday released “Khutbat-e-Modi: Lal Qila Ki Faseel Se”, an Urdu compilation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speeches delivered from the Red Fort between 2014 and 2025.
Published by the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), a statutory body under the Ministry of Education, the book aims to promote linguistic inclusion by making key national addresses accessible to Urdu readers across the country.
Addressing the gathering, Pradhan said the Prime Minister’s speeches consistently highlight Antyodaya, welfare of the poor, Swachh Bharat, national unity and the aspirations of 140 crore Indians, reflecting the idea of New India. He termed the publication a meaningful step towards inclusive communication.
He said such compilations directly connect citizens with the Prime Minister’s vision and developmental priorities, enabling informed public discourse. Pradhan expressed hope that the book would be widely adopted by libraries and academic institutions, encouraging dialogue on the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The minister also urged NCPUL to take proactive responsibility in publishing works related to India’s heritage, culture, lifestyle and knowledge traditions in Urdu, and congratulated the council for the initiative.
The event was attended by Secretary (Higher Education) Dr Vineet Joshi, Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti Chairman Padma Chamu Krishna Shastry, NCPUL Director Dr Shams Iqbal, Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor Prof Naima Khatoon, NCMEI Chairman Dr Shahid Akhtar, and senior officials of the Ministry of Education.
