New Delhi, 2nd Nov. In a pointed attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress party chief Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP over its election guarantees, branding the “Modi Ki Guarantee” a “cruel joke” on 140 crore Indians. Kharge asserted that before Modi criticizes others, he should reflect on his own party’s track record, which he described as filled with lies, deceit, and betrayal.
In a post on X, Kharge stated, “The ‘B’ in BJP stands for ‘betrayal,’ while ‘J’ stands for ‘jumla,’” further claiming that Modi’s government epitomizes “Lies, Deceit, Fakery, Loot and Publicity.” He denounced Modi’s recent claims regarding a 100-day plan as nothing more than a cheap PR stunt.
Kharge was joined by prominent Congress leaders, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who also weighed in on the debate, defending the Congress party’s history of fulfilling its promises.
Addressing Modi’s past assertions that he consulted over 20 lakh people for a roadmap for 2047, Kharge called into question the Prime Minister’s credibility, noting that an RTI inquiry filed in the PMO yielded no results. He highlighted the failure to deliver on the promise of “two crore jobs per year,” questioning the current unemployment rate, which is at a 45-year high.
“The Congress is dedicated to addressing the needs of the people, unlike the BJP, which has left states like Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh grappling with fiscal mismanagement,” Kharge added, citing increasing household costs and the detrimental impact of GST on essential items.
Siddaramaiah countered Modi’s criticisms by asserting that the Congress party in Karnataka is successfully implementing its five key guarantees, backed by a budget of over ₹52,000 crore. He accused the BJP of fostering corruption and mismanagement during its tenure in the state.
As the political rhetoric intensifies ahead of upcoming elections, Congress leaders are uniting to challenge Modi’s narrative and reaffirm their commitment to delivering on promises made to the electorate.
