Bengaluru, 6th April.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Mussavir Hussain Shazib as the main suspect responsible for the blast at a cafe in Bengaluru on March 1, with Abdul Matheen Taahaa as his accomplice.

To locate and apprehend the suspects who are currently evading capture, the NIA has conducted searches at 18 different locations in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, according to an NIA spokesperson.

In connection to the Rameshwaram Cafe blast, the NIA has identified Mussavir Hussain Shazib as the individual who carried out the IED blast, and Abdul Matheen Taahaa as his co-conspirator, both residing in Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district of Karnataka.

The explosion at the cafe on ITPL Road, Brookefield, Bengaluru, resulted in several injuries.

Additionally, Muzammil Shareef, a resident of Khalsa, Chikkamagaluru, who provided logistical support to the main suspects, was arrested on March 26 and questioned while in police custody, the spokesperson added.

The agency announced rewards of 10 lakh rupees for any information leading to the arrest of each fugitive on March 29.

The NIA has been interviewing acquaintances, including friends from college and school, of both the suspects at large and those already in custody to gather evidence and information related to the case, the spokesperson mentioned.

Due to the nature of the incident being related to terrorism, revealing the identities of witnesses could jeopardize their safety and hinder the investigation. The agency also emphasized that unverified news reports could impede the progress of the investigation.

The NIA has requested the cooperation of the public in locating and apprehending the suspects who are currently on the run, the spokesperson concluded.
