‘Kejriwal is an irresponsible leader,’ says Delhi Congress chief Anil Chaudhary in the aftermath of the Jahangirpuri violence
GG News Bureau,
New Delhi, 17 April. Anil Chaudhary, chief of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), slammed Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal over the Jahangirpuri violence on Sunday, calling him a ‘irresponsible leader’ who is ‘not acting’ quickly to maintain peace and harmony in the national capital.
“Arvind Kejriwal is simply blaming others. Why wasn’t security provided when there was a procession? It is the responsibility of both the Delhi and the Central governments. Delhi has served as a model of unity and peace. Shiela ji handled such incidents well, but Arvind Kejriwal is not acting in the same way “Anil Chaudhary stated.
He went on to attack CM Arvind Kejriwal, further, saying, “This is a statement made by a reckless leader. Shiela ji stood up for the people and kept peace and harmony when Congress was in power. This is not the time to play the blame game, but rather to maintain brotherhood.”
Arvind Kejriwal has called for calm. “I implore everyone to keep the peace because the country cannot progress without it. It is the responsibility of the central government to keep the national capital peaceful. People should be urged to keep the peace “The country cannot progress unless there is peace; everyone must work together to keep peace, law, and order. If necessary, there is an agency, the police, whose responsibility exists “according to Kejriwal.
As Eid approaches, Chaudhary has asked the police to be proactive.” ” “This is unfortunate, and people have not yet recovered from the Northeast Delhi riots,” he added. The government should pay attention to this. Many festivals have been taking place over the last few days, and miscreants have been performing as well. When the procession was taking place, security measures were put in place.”
When asked about Anurag Thakur’s stance on Kejriwal “not accepting Delhi’s responsibility,” Chaudhary responded, “People like Anurag Thakur should also question Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi police commissioner about the incident.” The government should use its power to put an end to violence at any cost. This is a failure on the part of both the Delhi and Central governments.” Clashes erupted between two groups on Saturday evening after stone-pelting incidents were reported from the Jahangirpuri area of the national capital during a procession. Some people have been injured, including two police officers. The Delhi police have increased security in the area.
The leaders of the Congress, Trinamool Congress, Nationalist Congress Party, CPI(M), DMK, and RJD, among others, issued a joint statement condemning the incidents of violence across several states and expressing their “deep” concern. They also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been deafeningly silent on the issue, claiming that he has “failed to speak out against the words and actions of those who propagate bigotry and those who, through their words and actions, incite and provoke our society.” The appeal came in the wake of reports of communal clashes in states such as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, among others.
