WASHINGTON – The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Friday said that it thwarted a major terrorist plot hatched for Halloween weekend, the director Kash Patel said on Friday.
He stated that multiple suspects have been arrested in connection with the terror plot during raids conducted throughout the day.
“This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. More details to come,” Patel said in a social media.
“Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland,” he added.
The raids were conducted in the cities of Dearborn and Inkster, according to media reports
Dearborn Police Department in a Facebook post said that it was aware of the FBI operations conducted in the city, assuring there was no threat to the public.
“The Dearborn Police Department has been made aware that the FBI conducted operations in the City of Dearborn earlier this morning. We want to assure our residents that there is no threat to the community at this time,” it said.
