New Delhi, 27th Jan. A student at a hostel in the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka was paraded half-naked after he allegedly declined to attend a BR Ambedkar commemoration that the hostel students had organized.
A case was filed against fifteen to twenty-five hostel lads who had the victim wander around the town in only her underwear. Section 504 (intentional insult with purpose to cause breach of peace), Section 505(2) (public mischief), Section 341 (wrongful restraint), Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC were the sections under which the complaint was filed.
The FIR was mentioned, and all of the males engaged in the case are minors. The victim of the event was the one who declined to attend the ‘Ambedkar Puja’ carried out by the hostel students in Kalaburagi. In retaliation, the victim was beaten by at least 15–20 students and paraded through Kalaburagi’s streets while wearing an Ambedkar photo on his head.
