The Karnataka government has announced that it will include 13,000 employees who were notified before April 1, 2006, but appointed at a later date, in the Old Pension Scheme.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah shared on X that he had made this promise to the government employees during their strike against the new pension scheme.

During the election campaign, I visited the striking employees and assured them that their demand would be met once we assume power. I believe this decision brings relief to the families of the 13,000 employees under the new pension scheme, he added.
