Karnataka Assembly Passes the Karnataka Police (Amendment) Bill, 2021, to Ban Online Gaming & Curb Online Gambling

Bengaluru, 22nd Sep. The Karnataka Assembly on Tuesday passed the Karnataka Police (Amendment) Bill, 2021 to ban online gaming and curb online gambling.

The bill was introduced in the assembly by state home minister Araga Gyanendra. While the bill proposes to ban online gambling, a clause has also been introduced in the bill that would ban all online games of skill. Dream 11, MPL, Games 24-7 etc. will be affected due to the implementation of this bill.

Earlier this month, the Karnataka cabinet decided to ban online games after the state government received several complaints regarding cyber fraud. It includes transactions through electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers.
