J&K–Ladakh Youth Take Centre Stage in Delhi
Dr Jitendra Singh hosts young leaders, says their energy mirrors New India’s changing narrative

New Delhi, 11th Jan: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, and Minister of State for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Department of Space and Department of Atomic Energy, Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday hosted an informal interaction with youth participants from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh who are attending the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue 2026 in the national capital.
The interaction was held in a warm and informal atmosphere at the Minister’s residence, where a special dinner was hosted for the visiting youth contingent. The group comprises 52 youth from Jammu and Kashmir and 31 from Ladakh, who are in Delhi to take part in the National Youth Festival organised by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
For the last two days, the youth have been engaging peers from across the country through cultural presentations, innovation showcases and creative expressions, drawing attention to the evolving aspirations of young India. Dr Jitendra Singh said the enthusiasm of youth from J&K and Ladakh reflects the changing narrative of New India.
Calling the initiative a novel experiment conceptualised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Minister said the Dialogue has transformed youth from being mere beneficiaries into active partners in India’s development journey.
The national-level event is being held at Bharat Mandapam from January 10 to 12, and will culminate on National Youth Day, January 12, when the participants will also get an opportunity to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The National Youth Festival is organised annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted that the future of a developed India depends on the innovation, leadership and energy of its young citizens. He encouraged the participants to use the platform to exchange ideas, strengthen national integration and present youth-driven solutions in governance, innovation, culture and social development.
He expressed confidence that the youth from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh would represent their regions with distinction and return as ambassadors of positive change, carrying forward the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat and the transformative vision of Viksit Bharat.
