New Delhi,7th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2026, mentioning the transformative impact of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) in making medicines affordable for citizens across the country.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring access to quality medicines at affordable prices for every citizen.
“On #JanAushadhiDiwas2026, my best wishes to all those who have been positively impacted by the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana,” Modi said.
He noted that through Jan Aushadhi Kendras, thousands of families are able to reduce their healthcare expenses while receiving proper medical treatment.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to ensuring that every citizen has access to quality medicines at affordable prices. Through Jan Aushadhi Kendras, countless families are saving on healthcare expenses and receiving proper treatment,” the Prime Minister added.
Jan Aushadhi Diwas is observed every year to promote the use of generic medicines and to raise awareness about the availability of affordable medicines through Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country.
The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana aims to make quality generic medicines available at significantly lower prices, helping improve access to healthcare and reduce the financial burden of medical treatment on households.
