Jagdeep Dhankhar Breaks Silence: ‘Duty Comes Before Everything’ Sparks New Questions

GG News Bureau
Bhopal, 22nd Nov: Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar returned to the public stage on Friday, months after stunning the nation with his sudden resignation from office. Appearing at the launch of senior RSS functionary Manmohan Vaidya’s book Hum Aur Yah Vishva in Bhopal, Dhankhar’s brief but pointed remarks left the audience curious — and reignited debate around his abrupt exit.

This was Dhankhar’s first public address in four months, and expectations were high for clarity on his resignation. Instead, he offered a carefully worded hint.

Mid-speech, an aide approached to remind him of his 7:30 pm flight back to Delhi. Dhankhar smiled before replying:
“I can’t skip my duty for catching a flight — and friends, my recent past is proof of it.”

Reported by PTI, this comment instantly raised eyebrows in the audience, many interpreting it as a subtle reference to the mystery behind his July exit.

Praises Book for ‘Debunking Myths’ About RSS

Dhankhar strongly endorsed Vaidya’s book, saying it counters misinformation about the RSS.
He criticised what he called malicious propaganda that portrays the RSS as a far-right organisation or links it to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination.

“These allegations are baseless,” Dhankhar said, urging readers to guard themselves against misleading narratives that create a ‘chakravyuh’ of deceit.

Warning on Information Warfare and Civilisational Conflict

Shifting to global challenges, Dhankhar said that society today is drifting from morality, spirituality and intellectual clarity. He highlighted that tools like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things and Machine Learning are reshaping the modern world, often triggering civilizational conflicts and psychological warfare.

“The book teaches us that in such grim circumstances, there remains a beacon of hope,” he said.
“India must fall back on its deepest inheritance to navigate this storm.”

Resignation Continues to Raise Questions

Dhankhar resigned in July this year citing health reasons and thanked President Droupadi Murmu for her support. The ruling NDA later elected former Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan as the new Vice President in September.

However, Dhankhar’s latest remarks — especially his reference to duty and recent decisions — have revived speculation that his resignation may have involved more than health concerns.

Political observers believe that Dhankhar may still be signalling something larger, and his cryptic statement has ensured that the conversation around his exit is far from over.

As his return to public life continues, all eyes will now be on Dhankhar — and whether he chooses to elaborate on what exactly “duty” compelled him to do.
