Itihas Sankalan Samiti Holds National Workshop in Delhi

Scholars and office-bearers from across India convened in Delhi to chart future initiatives and strengthen historical research.

New Delhi, 13th July: A one-day national workshop of the Vidwat Parishad (Scholarly Council) under the Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana was successfully held today at the newly inaugurated central office “Sadhana” at Keshav Kunj, Jhandewalan, New Delhi. The workshop took place in the library auditorium of Tower 1 and saw the participation of scholars and regional heads from across India.

The event began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the organisation’s respected General Secretary, Dr. Balamukund Pandey, in front of the statues of Bharat Mata and Baba Saheb Apte. Prof. Santosh Kumar Shukla, the national head of the Vidwat Parishad, introduced the workshop agenda with an opening address.

In his keynote speech, Dr. Pandey elaborated on the vision, structure, and goals of the Vidwat Parishad, highlighting its vital role in reclaiming and rewriting the cultural and historical narratives of Bharat from an indigenous perspective.

Divided into four sessions, the day-long event featured in-depth discussions on various subjects related to historical research, regional histories, and future academic collaborations. Scholars from multiple states shared insights and recommendations aimed at strengthening the intellectual foundation of the organisation’s nationwide historical projects.

Prominent attendees included National General Secretary Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar, Joint General Secretary Sanjay Mishra “Sriharsh”, National Secretary and Council Coordinator Dr. Harsh Vardhan Singh Tomar, and several senior office bearers of the Itihas Sankalan Yojana.

Future initiatives and strategic planning were also outlined during the workshop, which is seen as a key step towards revitalizing India’s historical scholarship with a Bharatiya-centric approach.

“This workshop marks a renewed commitment to scholarly excellence rooted in our civilizational ethos,” said Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar.
