Ballia, 13th July: In a deeply inspiring tribute, IPS officer Pankaj Chaudhary has announced plans to establish a grand library in memory of his late father, Shri Sadashiv Chaudhary, in their native village of Purushottam Patti in Ballia district. The initiative aims to empower underprivileged children through education and opportunity, transforming the rural landscape with knowledge and hope.

“This is what Babuji would have wanted,” said Pankaj Chaudhary, his voice choked with emotion. “He always believed that education is the only real inheritance we can pass on.”

The proposed library will cater to students from the village and surrounding areas and will also feature annual scholarships for meritorious students of Class 10 and 12, helping bright minds overcome financial hurdles in their pursuit of learning.

Late Shri Sadashiv Chaudhary, a principled junior engineer known for his humility and dedication, served across Uttar Pradesh and present-day Uttarakhand. From the hills of Pauri Garhwal to the ghats of Banaras, he led a life of public service. He passed away on June 20, 2025, in Bhopal at the age of 80. Honoring his last wish, his cremation was performed at Harishchandra Ghat in Kashi, one of Hinduism’s most sacred sites. His terahvi ceremony drew attendance from across India, including Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, senior bureaucrats, and political leaders.

The legacy of service in the Chaudhary family stretches back generations. Pankaj’s grandfather, Late Ramlochan Pehalwan, was a famed wrestler born in 1898. Known for his physical might and simple, disciplined life, he competed against wrestling greats like Chandgi Ram and lived nearly 100 years. In 2020, on Mahashivratri, a temple was built in his memory in the village. Pankaj’s wife, politician Mukul Chaudhary, personally installed the idol of Shiv Parivar brought from Jaipur, reaffirming the family’s deep spiritual and cultural roots.

The library, like the temple, is more than a structure—it is a monument to generational values of discipline, humility, and service.

What was once a quiet village in eastern Uttar Pradesh is now a symbol of continuity—where memory meets mission, and tribute takes the form of action. Through this initiative, IPS officer Pankaj Chaudhary is not only honoring his father’s legacy but is also laying the foundation for future generations to dream, learn, and rise.
