New Delhi, 6th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 champions at his residence in New Delhi, congratulating them for their historic victory over South Africa in the finals on November 2.

Addressing the players, PM Modi urged them to “share their success stories to inspire the next generation.” He asked each team member to visit three schools every year to interact with students, saying that their journeys would motivate countless young minds to dream big.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the Fit India Movement to combat obesity and encourage healthy living. He appealed to the champions to promote fitness awareness, particularly among young girls, noting that “small changes like reducing oil intake by 10% can have a lasting impact.”

Modi praised the team’s perseverance after early setbacks in the tournament, remarking that their victory showcased India’s growing strength in women’s sports. “Cricket in India is not just a game—it’s an emotion that connects millions,” he said, lauding the players for lifting the nation’s spirits.

Coach Amol Mazumdar and captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his constant encouragement, while senior players Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma recalled how his previous words of motivation guided them through challenges.

PM Modi concluded by describing the team as “daughters of India who have made the country proud” and urged them to continue inspiring others through discipline, teamwork, and determination.
