IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Raipur After Hoax Bomb Threat

GG News Bureau
Raipur, 14th Nov. An IndiGo flight traveling from Nagpur to Kolkata made an emergency landing at Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport on Thursday morning following a bomb threat, which was later determined to be a hoax.

The flight, carrying 187 passengers and six crew members, was diverted to Raipur after a passenger reported a bomb on board mid-flight, according to Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police, Santosh Singh. Alerted by the crew, Air Traffic Control immediately arranged for the plane to be directed to Raipur, where it landed around 9 a.m.

Upon arrival, the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay, and a team of police and bomb squad experts conducted a thorough inspection. All passengers were evacuated from the plane, and a complete security check was conducted on the aircraft and all luggage, Singh confirmed. Following this inspection, authorities determined the bomb threat to be a hoax.

The passenger responsible for the false alarm was detained and is currently undergoing questioning, police said.

After clearance from security officials, the flight resumed its journey to Kolkata, departing from Raipur around 12 p.m. Airport officials also noted that a similar bomb threat was reported for an Alliance Air flight on October 24, which turned out to be a false alarm after checks at Bilaspur airport.
